Here is Hong's report:
It was a nice trip that I had chance to spend wonderful time with the kids in the Son La orphanage. I arrived at the province in the afternoon and all the kids were sitting in order in the cafeteria to welcome us. I spoke with the kids and introduce them to HSCV and our donors from Loving House Project. I informed about the gifts we brought to them this Tet occasion. All of the kids shouted and clapped a lot with happiness and smiles in their faces when they heard about receiving their Tet gifts. We then took all the children outside to give out gifts take photos. Each child received a winter jacket, a new outfit (trousers and shirts for schooling), 3 notebooks. They also received 10 cushions that they were short of, 70 sheets, note books, some other old clothes. The orphanage took the children to the cloths shop to try on all of the clothing before we arrived. They did a great job. Each set of clothing had a child’s name on it. The children stood in line to receive their gifts. Kids were excited with their new clothes, some tried their outfits and jackets while I took photos of them, some grab their gifts insistantly to guard them. I could feel the joy in each face. Some were timid but some approached me to talk with me. I found almost all of the kids here were educated. They each replied politely when I asked about their studying, relations and lives. We took a lot of photos with them.
All the staffs who kids called “mum” are very nice. They were very busy with the orphanage in the Tet occasion with organizing and taking care the kids in that time. All of them would like to say thank you to HSCV and donors on behalf of their children. They also issued a Certificate for our donation to acknowledge our help.
