Sharing with a successful student from HSCV class of Success 01

Nguyen Thi Hong Tuyet was born in 1991 in a very poor Village in Soc Son District, Hanoi, Vietnam. Tuyet lived with her blind grandmother and her uncle and her aunt in a small house. Her family was very poor, so coming back from the schooling; she helped her family a lot with the house works and helped her aunt on the field sometimes.

HSCV has been sponsoring for this child with scholarship August 2006, at that time she was at risk of dropping out of school. With scholarship sponsorship, Tuyet could continue going to school and could finish the High school. And with the sponsoring from HSCV for her schooling at the Vocational Training program, and then she was able to archive her dream.

Tuyet took entering the Hoa Sua Economic and Tourism private vocational school in the beginning of September 2008. She studied in restaurant services branch and she was really enjoy with it. This school is about 70 km far from her house and now she live in the dormitory of this school.

Tuyet has just finished the second school year. In this time, she spent all of her time in a work-internship program at the school’s restaurant. She also worked as a waiter in the restaurant at the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology. During three months of internship work, she learned much about various kinds of French wines. Tuyet also communicated with many foreign customers, improving both her English and French. She really enjoyed the time working there and gained a lot of real-world experience from this work.

Tuyet completed her study program at Hoa Sua School in May 2010. By her effort in the work-internship program and her grade in the final examination, she received a GPA result of 7.5 for the school year. She was very pleased with her result and this achievement was helpful for Tuyet when she began searching for a job.

After graduating with a certificate from the Hoa Sua School, she accepted a job at the restaurant, Oriland, in Hanoi in May. The work is very good and she has a stable job as a result. In June, Tuyet got married and now she has a happy life with her husband in Hanoi.

She said that she feels very happy and lucky to receive help from HSCV. Without the support and encouragement from HSCV, she might be just a farmer now, and living in poverty for the rest of her life. She would like to say thank you so much to HSCV and all the sponsors, who made this great change in her life possible!!!
