Little gifts, great impact - HSCV’s donation to the Friendship Home

On the morning of 4th May, I made my way to the Friendship Home to deliver a few donations from HSCV. The mothers and the children were elated with our gifts, which included a new table, chairs, water taps and clothes racks.

The children are especially excited about their new clothes racks and hurried to hang their clothes and hats on their new racks. In an instant, the six racks we brought found new homes, five were placed in the children's room and the last rack stood at the front door for their helmets and raincoats.

The big table was placed in the room where Mr. Jim conducts his English class. The chairs also found homage in the meeting room. With these new furniture and additions, the classroom is set and ready to welcome the students.

The Friendship Home Director, Co Ha (Mrs. Ha) was very excited about these new gifts from HSCV. She took me to every corner of the home and pointed out all the gifts they have received from HSCV. When she brought me to the kitchen to show me the new water taps and the pipes that HSCV has just donated to them, she said, "These taps may not cost very much, but they have helped us a lot, especially when we are cooking and preparing for the meals for the children. All the mothers are very happy with these new taps.”

Though I am a mere messenger to bring these gifts to the families of Friendship Home, I am happy to be part of this meaningful initiative and to witness the positive changes that these little gifts have brought to them.

The children and mothers at the home would like me to extend their most sincere gratitude to HSCV. They also added that it is their wish for HSCV to grow in strength so that it can reach out to more needy children in Vietnam.

Global Express Hanoi donated the new table to HSCV. The funds for the remaining items came from HSCV visitors and our general funds.
