PHAM VAN CHIEN

Mr. Pham Van Chien comes from Phu Xuyen province, he is 60 years old now, in 1951, Mr. Chien had stroke. Although he was treated in different hospitals, his condition did not become better. Consequently, the right side of his body is paralyzed and he is also unable to move his left hand. By having traditional Asian medical treatments and practicing diligently, he can walk with some difficulty.

Today, he lives with his wife. His two children work in Hanoi. His family is an agricultural household and his wife takes care of all of the farm work. Mr. Chien can only help his wife do some household chores. He told me that his health has become weaker and his walking faces more difficulties. Understanding Mr. Chien’s condition, the local Red Cross Association suggested to him to register for a wheelchair.

Today, he expressed gratitude from the bottom of his heart to the sponsors, FWM, GIBTK, HSCV and the local Red Cross Association. You could hear the happiness in his voice as he talked about how, now he can move about more easily than before and can now go outside to meet his friends. As I left the hall, I saw a bright smile beaming on his face!

For only $500 you can sponsor HSCV's distribution of a container of 550 wheelchairs. This is less than $1 per wheelchair. HSCV receives our wheelchairs from Free Wheelchair Mission. They cover all expenses until the container reaches Vietnam. At that point HSCV works with a local partner to distribute the chairs. $500 will allow us to oversee the distribution of one container.
