Little Thao needs our help

HSCV has recently met a 3 year old girl who has suffered severe burns to her arms and torso after falling into a bucket of hot food prepared for the family’s pigs. Little Thao and her family live in Ha Giang, a remote and poor Province in Northern Vietnam. As it is, the family struggles to provide their children adequate food, water, shelter and education for the children. The cost to cover Thao’s surgery is well beyond their means.

HSCV has transferred Thao and her mother, Song to a burn hospital in HaNoi. We are currently seeking treatment and funding to support Thao on her long journey to recovery. Burns are incredibly painful and Thao must be confused and beyond scared. Song is beside herself with worry for Thao. The journey to HaNoi was long and difficult. Compared to the remote mountains they are familiar, the city is vast and daunting. In order to care for Thao, Song left 4 children between the ages of 4 and 13 home with a father is able to provide little care. Song is overwhelmed, and we are doing our best to comfort and support Thao and Song.

Funding is needed for surgery, pain medication, travel costs and daily essentials during the treatment. If you are able to contribute in anyway your support will be greatly appreciated. Please visit our website www.hscv.org to make a donation to help Thao recover from this horrible accident.
