Tam's thank you letter

This is another thank you letter from a heart patient who got support from Cardiostart, Humanitarian Services for Children of Vietnam and Viet Duc hospital.

Nghi Dien, 12/19/2009

To Humanitarian Services for Children of Vietnam,

My name is Nguyen Thi Lan. I am living in Hamlet 9, Nghi Dien commune, Nghi Loc district, Nghe An province. My daughter is Chu Thi Tam. For the past two years, Tam has fainted from exhaustion for many times both at home and at school. Therefore, I took her to hospital for a medical check-up. At Nghe An hospital for Children, we were told that Tam had congenital heart disease and that we needed to refer her to Viet Duc hospital. At Viet Duc hospital, doctors advised me to have my daughter operated immediately or else I would lose her forever. Unfortunately, the cost of the surgery was 45 million VND, a huge amount of money for a family living in countryside like mine. As a result, I desperately returned to home, powerlessly waited for the day my daughter would go away.
However, hope came when my family was deep in misery. With the suggestion of Nghi Luc Song Center, I came to Humanitarian Service for Children of Vietnam (HSCV) for help. Thanks to the support from HSCV, my daughter had been operated at Viet Duc hospital and gradually recovered.
Through thick and thin, you, the angels from HSCV, were always with my family, soothing our minds with meaningful presents as well as the warmest encouragement. Thank you very much! If it had not been for HSCV, my family would never have such happiness. We would have lost my daughter forever! We all know that saying “thank you” is never enough! Everything you have done for us will stay in our heart for good. In Vietnamese, we call it “Tri An”!
May you all be happy and continue to bring happiness to as many unhappy people as possible.

I would like to send you the picture of my daughter Tam after her heart surgery for 45 days.

Sincerely,

Vo Thi Lan
